The latest project I’ve been working on is for Grounds 2 Give. They ares a Nashville based business that seeks to provide fundraising solutions for churches, youth groups, and other non-profits. They have a unique take on fundraising, in that they’re selling high-quality coffees and teas, not $5 candy bars or other useless or over-priced items. It’s a neat concept, and I was happy to help out with creating a web presence for them. I created a website for them on a WordPress platform, and also designed their logo.
If you’re a small business owner who is trying to come to grips with the new world of websites, social media, search engine optimization, and all the other buzz words, its important to understand that it doesn’t all have to come at once. With all things web, you can easily put your toes in the water and get familiar with everything one step at a time, rather than diving into the deep end, getting overwhelmed, and then quitting it all before you ever saw any benefit. Grounds 2 Give is a perfect example of this. The owner of the business is not particularly tech-savvy, so I didn’t try to force her to start a blog and commit to sending tweets daily, I just added some simple social sharing buttons, so that visitors could share the website with their friends, and left it at that. Down the road when she’s ready, we can come back and integrate a blog, or a tweet feed.
If you have any web-related problems you need help solving, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I’d be more than happy to help!
